DETAILS AND CARE

The Condensa is a double-ended composite instrument with a moulded silicone handle. It has two plugger ends, one thicker and one thinner, each on a curved shank ending in a small, blunt, smooth end. It is used to pack (condense) composite into the cavity and adapt it closely to the cavity walls, layer by layer, as a restoration is built up.

  • Thick and thin plugger ends for packing composite into cavities of different sizes and adapting it against the cavity walls
  • Curved shanks for reaching cavities on front and back teeth
  • Ergonomic silicone grip, lightweight and comfortable
  • AISI 304 stainless steel working ends, fully autoclavable

FAQs

What is the Condensa used for?

It is a plugger for layered composite work. Each plugger end is pressed gently onto an increment of composite to pack it into the cavity and adapt it closely to the cavity walls before it is cured. The thicker end suits larger cavities and the thinner end smaller ones.

Why choose a silicone handle?

A moulded silicone handle is wider and lighter than a solid steel one, giving a comfortable, controlled hold through a full day of appointments, and the textured surface helps keep a secure grip.

What material is this instrument made from?

The working ends are AISI 304 stainless steel, set into a moulded silicone handle. Both are fully autoclavable.

Handle colour: choose Grey or Pink. Both are the same instrument; only the handle colour differs.

The Condensa is also included in our Composite Filling Instruments Kit 5 Pieces, Silicone Handle and our Composite Filling Instruments Kit (10 Pieces), Silicone Handle.

Manufactured by InstruDental, UK specialists in dental hand instruments.

Colour note: Handle colours may look slightly different in person due to screen brightness, settings and lighting.
