FAQs
What does the non-stick coating do?
The working ends have a titanium nitride (TiN) non-stick coating, designed to minimise composite sticking to the working surface. Composite that sticks to an instrument can pull the material out of shape as you lift away, so a coating designed to reduce sticking is there to help you shape it cleanly.
What is included in the kit?
Six different double-ended composite filling instruments, patterns CF1 to CF6. Between them the twelve working ends include flat paddle blades, ball ends, a cone-shaped end and a fine thin blade, as shown in the photo.
How is this kit different from the blue six-piece kit?
Both kits contain the same six instrument patterns, and both have coated working ends designed to minimise composite sticking. The difference is the colour: choose rose gold, or our blue six-piece composite kit.
How should the instruments be cleaned and sterilised?
Clean and sterilise them in line with your practice's decontamination procedures and your autoclave manufacturer's guidance. To look after the rose gold coating, avoid abrasive cleaning, which can wear any surface coating.
What are the instruments made from?
Stainless steel, with a rose gold titanium nitride (TiN) non-stick coating on the working ends.
Also available: our five-piece and ten-piece silicone handle composite kits. These contain different instruments from this kit, with silicone handles.
