What is a Nabers probe used for?
It measures horizontal furcation involvement, the bone loss between the roots of molars and upper premolars. The curve lets the tip travel along the root surface into the furcation entrance.
Why choose a silicone handle?
A moulded silicone handle is wider and lighter than a solid steel one, so it takes less pinch force to control the instrument. Across a full day of appointments that means noticeably less hand fatigue, and the textured surface keeps its grip when wet or gloved.
What material is this instrument made from?
The working end is hardened Japanese-standard J2 stainless steel, which holds its edge through repeated autoclave cycles, set into a moulded silicone handle. Both are fully autoclavable.
