DETAILS AND CARE

Plane mouth mirror heads, No.5 (24mm), supplied in a box of twelve. A plane mirror gives a clear, everyday reflection for routine examination and for checking a preparation, and buying by the box keeps a fresh mirror available on every tray.

  • Plane No.5 head, 24mm diameter
  • Clear back-surface reflection for routine examination
  • Box of 12 keeps every set-up supplied
  • Fits threaded mirror handles, autoclavable

FAQs

What is the difference between a plane and a front-surface mirror?

A plane mirror reflects from the back of the glass, which can produce a faint double (ghost) image. A front-surface mirror reflects off the front face, removing that ghosting entirely, and costs more.

Do these fit my existing handles?

They use a threaded fitting, so they screw onto conventional mouth mirror handles including our hollow 12cm handle.

When should a mirror be replaced?

Once the surface is scratched, clouded or pitted. A degraded mirror makes indirect vision harder and is why many practices buy heads by the box rather than singly.

What material is this instrument made from?

A glass plane mirror set into a stainless steel rim with a threaded stem, and it withstands repeated autoclave sterilisation.

Stocked alongside our hollow mirror handles and complete mirror head and handle sets.
