The Eccesso is a double-ended composite instrument with a moulded silicone handle. One end has an angled shank ending in a thin, flat, curved blade; the other has a shank that curves round into a flat, curved blade angled in a different direction. It is used to tidy up a composite restoration by clearing away material that has gone beyond where it is wanted.
- For removing surplus composite and leftover bonding material from around a restoration
- Two differently angled blades for reaching the neck of front teeth near the gum, and the tight spaces between teeth
- Ergonomic silicone grip, lightweight and comfortable

FAQs
What is the Eccesso used for?
It is a hand instrument for cleaning up around a composite filling. Its blades lift away extra composite and bonding material in two areas: the neck of front teeth, where the filling meets the gum line (the cervical area), and the contact areas between neighbouring teeth (interproximal areas). With a differently angled blade on each end, the clinician can pick whichever angle suits the area being cleaned.
Why choose a silicone handle?
A moulded silicone handle is wider and lighter than a solid steel one, giving a comfortable, controlled hold through a full day of appointments, and the textured surface helps keep a secure grip.
What material is this instrument made from?
The working ends are AISI 304 stainless steel, set into a moulded silicone handle. Both are fully autoclavable.
Handle colour: pink.
The Eccesso is also included in our Composite Filling Instruments Kit (10 Pieces) Silicone Handle.
