A 12cm distal end cutter with safety hold. It trims the archwire flush behind the last molar tube and grips the cut section as it separates, so the offcut leaves the mouth with the instrument instead of dropping into the airway.
- Trims archwire flush behind the molar tube
- Safety hold retains the offcut as it is cut
- Hardened cutting edges for repeated use on orthodontic wire
- Hardened Japanese-standard (JIS) SUS 410J1 stainless steel, fully autoclavable
FAQs
What does safety hold mean?
The cutting head grips the piece of wire it removes. Without it, a short length of archwire is released into the mouth at the moment of cutting, which is the main risk of this procedure.
How do I get the longest life from a cutter?
Use it only on the wire type and gauge it is intended for. Cutting hardened or oversized wire is what rolls a cutting edge, and a rolled edge cannot be restored.
What material is this instrument made from?
It is made from hardened Japanese-standard (JIS) SUS 410J1 stainless steel and withstands repeated autoclave sterilisation.
