How does a universal curette differ from a Gracey?
A universal curette has two working cutting edges set at 90 degrees to the shank, so one instrument covers the whole mouth. A Gracey has one working edge offset for a specific area, giving better adaptation but needing a set to cover every surface.
Why choose a silicone handle?
A moulded silicone handle is wider and lighter than a solid steel one, so it takes less pinch force to control the instrument. Across a full day of appointments that means noticeably less hand fatigue, and the textured surface keeps its grip when wet or gloved.
What material is this instrument made from?
The working end is hardened Japanese-standard J2 stainless steel, which holds its edge through repeated autoclave cycles, set into a moulded silicone handle. Both are fully autoclavable.
