Does it work on ceramic brackets?
Yes. Ceramic is brittle and needs a controlled shearing action rather than a squeeze, which is what the hardened tip geometry provides.
What do the tungsten carbide tips add?
Tungsten carbide is much harder than stainless steel, so the gripping surfaces resist wear and keep their bite on hardened archwire far longer than plain steel tips.
